What is the best CS2 sensitivity?
There is no single sensitivity that is best for every player. A useful setting lets you make controlled corrections, track a moving target and turn comfortably without changing your grip or running out of mousepad.
If you have no baseline, test 800 eDPI—for example 800 DPI with 1.0 in-game sensitivity—then adjust by 5–10% at a time. It is a neutral starting experiment, not a target you must copy.

Multiply mouse DPI by the in-game sensitivity value. A player using 400 DPI and sensitivity 2.0 has 800 eDPI; 800 DPI and sensitivity 1.0 produces the same eDPI inside CS2.
eDPI makes CS2 setups easier to compare, but it does not describe mouse weight, mousepad friction, grip, available desk space or zoom sensitivity. It also should not be treated as a universal conversion between different games.

How to find your own CS2 sensitivity
Use one repeatable test and change only the in-game sensitivity. Keep DPI, resolution, mousepad and practice conditions unchanged while comparing values.
- Record your current setup
Write down DPI, CS2 sensitivity and the calculated eDPI so you can always return to the baseline.
- Check comfortable turning
From your normal mouse position, verify that you can clear the angles you commonly face without repeatedly lifting the mouse.
- Test small corrections
Aim between nearby points and track a moving target. Notice repeated overshooting or undershooting rather than one missed shot.
- Change by 5–10%
Lower the sensitivity if you consistently overshoot; raise it if controlled turns require uncomfortable movement or repeated lifts.
- Keep the candidate for several sessions
Do not judge the setting from a few minutes or keep changing it after every missed shot.
Low versus high CS2 sensitivity
Lower sensitivity gives more physical space for small corrections but requires larger arm movement and more mousepad area. Higher sensitivity reduces travel distance and makes fast turns easier, but small hand movements produce larger changes on screen.
Role labels do not determine the answer. An AWPer, rifler or entry player still needs a setting that supports both precise corrections and the turns required by their positioning.
DPI, zoom sensitivity and polling rate
DPI and in-game sensitivity combine into eDPI. Zoom sensitivity is a separate multiplier for scoped movement, so two players with the same eDPI can still feel different while using an AWP or scoped rifle.
Polling rate describes how frequently the mouse reports movement. It does not change the eDPI calculation. Use a polling rate your mouse and PC run reliably instead of treating a larger number as a replacement for a comfortable sensitivity.
How to change and verify sensitivity in CS2
Change the value in CS2's mouse settings or enable the developer console and use the sensitivity command. Enter sensitivity without a new number to have the console report the current value.
Save the final number in a note or your personal autoexec only after you have tested it. DPI must still be configured in the mouse software.
